UPADTE: I See Stars

I'm sure everyone can imagine just how OVERLY EXCITED I am about this, but I'll try to collect my thoughts enough to put together an informative post. Ready? Here we go.

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE the band I See Stars. They are 6 of the nicest and most appreciative guys I've ever met or probably will ever meet and their music has gotten me through a lot. Recently ISS has been in the news a lot for feuding with (the evil) Ronnie Radke, formerly of Escape The Fate and now with Falling In Reverse. Though I always liked Ronnie and Falling In Reverse for their music, it's no surprise to anyone who's side I landed on. You can read all about the feud and see Ronnie's true colors in my previous post from a few days ago. Two of my particular favorite comments of Ronnie's during this whole thing have been, "Have I See Stars call me when they sell 30,000 records, at least!" and "People came to see me on this tour. I sell tickets. I See Stars does not sell tickets." Oh, really, Ronnie? I believe another one of my favorite bands, Asking Alexandria, feels a little differently.

On November 10, 2012 Asking Alexandria shared a link on their Facebook page explaining the feud between Ronnie and ISS with the comment, "watch this video. we take the Sumerian Records family very seriously. who thinks we should take I See Stars on tour with us?" This post exploded! With over 500 shares, 800 comment and 7,000 likes it was clear what fans wanted and AA was going to give it to them.

Tuesday morning AA and ISS decided to share some HUGE news that they just couldn't sit on anymore. AA's Facebook page reads:

"First and foremost I would like to talk about a dear friend of mine who was prematurely taken from us this month. Mitch Lucker was one of the kindest and most passionate people I have ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. My thoughts are not only with his family and friends, but also with the millions of people, worldwide, who Mitch helped to mould and inspire into the people they are today. A great man was lost who's love and passion reached all corners of the globe. As many of you know, Suicide Silence were preparing to join us on our upcoming 'Outbreak' Tour. Due to the devastating circumstances they will no longer be joining us physically. They will however, Mitch included, be with us in spirit. We will go out on this tour with As I Lay Dying, Memphis May Fire & Attila to pay our tributes and respects to Mitch and his brothers in Suicide Silence. A portion of all tickets and official tour t-shirts sold will go to Mitch's daughter for the Kenadee Lucker Education Fund.

Suicide Silence could never be replaced on our tour as they are the only band in the world who could bring their element, intensity and power to the line-up. For the sake of giving the fans the best show we can under the circumstances, we have decided to add Sumerian Records family members I See Stars to the bill, NOT AS A REPLACEMENT BY ANY MEANS, but as another band who's love and passion for music and their fans is as tried and true as ours. Now, more than ever, we need to come together to celebrate our collective love of music and to show compassion & solidarity in our scene. It's time to put aside all petty differences and remember what it is that brings us all together, the music. Mitch- from myself and everyone else who will be taking part in this tour, you are forever in our hearts. This one's for you. We love you. Cheers - Ben Bruce"

Now, for those of you who don't know and couldn't tell by the above post, Mitch Lucker was the lead singer of Suicide Silence who was taken from us earlier this month due to a motorcycle accident. SS was listed to go on the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour 2012 with Asking Alexandria. Because of this horrible incident, they will no longer be a part of the tour so AA has asked ISS to fill their spot on the bill! While this is AMAZING news, it is also very sad for it forces us to remember a great voice and youth advocate, Mitch Lucker. Though I was never really a SS fan, I can imagine what they're feeling and my heart goes out to the band, their friends, their family and their fans. <3 The good news is, a portion of the tickets sold and the official tour t's will go to Mitch's little girl, Kenadee, and the entire tour will be dedicated to SS and Mitch. In addition to that, it's a BIG EFF YOU to Ronnie as he tries to save what's left of his career. :p You can't keep ISS fans down. That's a fact. ;]

The Outbreak Tour kicks off this Friday, November 16, in Alberta, Canada and has 20 dates.
The bands on the bill are INCREDIBLE and I, for one, can not wait to see them all!
My date is December 7 in Philly and you can bet I will be there. 8-)

Bands on the bill:

For tour dates, check out the "tour dates" section on any of the bands' Facebook pages.

Who will I be seeing on December 7th? Let me know! Let's rage! :D
